This Month's Hot Deals

Viking Christmas Market Cruise On The Danube

Yes, of course we shopped...

Last but not least, we believe that no mom-daughter getaway is complete without some retail therapy and on this cruise there were endless opportunities to browse and often, to make some interesting purchases.

Viking River Cruise, decorations

The Christmas Markets and town squares were filled with goodies...

Viking River Cruise, cookies

Viking River Cruise, marzipan

Some treats were edible...

Viking River Cruise, garland

Others goodies, simply a treat for our eyes.

Viking River Cruise, Journeywoman shopping

Pricing was generally fair and pretty close to what we would normally spend in North America.

Viking River Cruise, hat

Since Erica and I seldom shop together back home, it was a treat for me to be able to do it here.

Viking River Cruise, hat shopping

I loved being able to offer a mom's opinions on the clothing or trinkets my daughter was interested in buying.

Too soon it was all over
Our days were full; we did so much learning, looking, shopping and walking that by late afternoon we were always happy to return to the comfort of our Viking home. We'd order a glass of wine, chat with fellow passengers in the lounge and look forward to what was always an excellent evening meal.

Viking River Cruise, chain bridge

On our final evening in Budapest our Viking Longship was docked right in town very close to the famous chain bridge. It was so lovely, all lit up! Being so close we could simply walk off the vessel for a short after dinner meander if we wished. How magical is that? Erica and I both agree that we'd do it all over again in a minute.
