autumn in canada

In parts of the world where our autumn days and evenings begin to cool, our thoughts turn to winter and how we might plan to escape the cold. To help with your planning we've packed this issue with very juicy HOT TOURS as well as tips on how to manage longer trips in warmer climes.

Please note: In this newsletter our twelve informative travel tips are coming from the experts who head the tour companies that support our Journeywoman Network. We think you will benefit from their expertise. I know that we certainly did.

We're also introducing the concept of our Journeywoman Book Club - If Oprah did it so can we:) Based on your very positive responses to our book lists in the past - beginning with this month and each future newsletter thereafter we will suggest several book titles that we've tested. As is always the case in our JW Network, we welcome your reading suggestions as well. Which books are you and your girlfriends reading now? Is any one title inspiring you to travel to a special part of the world? Please let us know all about it. Send your titles to: editor@journeywoman.com Put the words Journeywoman Book Club in the subject line and be sure to include your book title, the author, your mini (up to three lines) review, your first name and the city you are writing from all in the body of the e-mail. We believe that this will be a fun, positive addition to our newsletter and website. Let us know how you feel about it, as well.

Add to that we have loads of interesting JW news for you. Pour yourself a cuppa tea or glass of wine, sit back, relax, read and enjoy.

Expect your next Journeywoman Newsletter to be delivered in January 2019 (only a few months away). Until then you can follow all our Journeywoman News on JourneywomanFacebook, EvelynHannonFacebook, Twitter and Instagram. Our office will stay open through out as usual ready to accept your calls, read your emails, ideas, book suggestions and travel tips. Hearing from you always makes our JW heart sing!

Safe journeys, Everybody.

(1) Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman. This is not a travel-related book but the fact that Eleanor Oliphant has not yet travelled is an important part of who she is. It is an easy read - a funny but sad and quirky book. It kept me company on a long rainy weekend. Guaranteed you will pass this book along to that girlfriend that you know will enjoy it. Click!

(2) The Storm by Torontonian Arif Anwar is inspired by the 1970 Bhola Cyclone, in which half a million people perished overnight, the book seamlessly interweaves five love stories that, together, chronicle sixty years of Bangladeshi history and teaches us about father-daughter love and that part of the world.
