Winnipeg Murals Keep the City Looking Lively and Graffiti Free

Evelyn Hannon

As I walked and drove through just a few Winnipeg neighbourhoods there were surprises everywhere I looked. Big, colorfull, message filled murals that livened old buildings and city streets. I know there were often stories painted into those murals which as a visitor I didn't get. But I did recognize some heroes like Ghandi, Charlie Chaplin, Adam Beach, the popular First Nation's actor, and the barefoot runners of Ethiopia. These definitely added to my enjoyment of the city. Here's some for you to enjoy as well.
