Great Reads to Inspire Travel
JourneyWoman Book Club
Books Inspire and Connect Us
Who can imagine a world without books? Books help us believe in magic, possibilities and the unseen world. They take far beyond the place we’re reading about: we learn who we are, what inspires us and what connects us as human beings: curiosity, generosity, love, empathy and kindness.
Every month, we feature one book we love with a woman at the centre, based on your recommendations and some of our own. We host Book Club discussions on Zoom on the third Wednesday of every month at 8 pm EST (check your local time here). Please register on our Events Calendar or by using the links below. Discussion questions and author bios are provided in advance.
For each Book Club we also invite an expert guest speaker to join us and share her insider perspective. There is no charge to attend but we do ask you to ‘Pay What you Can’ so that we can make a donation to a charity of the speaker’s choice. Sessions are recorded and shared on this website for those who aren’t able to participate live.
We hope you’ll join us on our next call!
– Carolyn Ray and Wendy Brooks, your Book Club co-hosts

ABOUT THE BOOK
“For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth.
What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet or excite you. Books help us understand who we are and how we are to behave. They show us what community and friendship mean; they show us how to live and die.”
– Anne Lamont, Bird by Bird
