JW Spring Social/ Earth Day Celebration
Suggested price: $3.00
Thursday, April 22, 7 pm EDT / 5 pm MDT/ 4 pm PDT/ 9 am AEST
It’s Spring! We may not have travelled but we have become more connected than ever before, through our editorial features, sharing our solo travel wisdom, weekly community calls, 30+ virtual events, a thriving book club and more. This is a moment to show our gratitude and look to the future.
It’s also Earth Day so it’s a time to learn from experts about the intentional choices we can make in the future to help Mother Earth. As women, we are the primary influencers in travel and we can make a difference in the world through our choices. We’ll talk about finding the balance between ethics, animal conservation and travel with special guests Nora Livingston from Animal Experiences International and a scientist from the Latin American Sea Turtle Association. We’ll also have lots of exciting news to share about new partnerships and services just for women.
This event is free for everyone. However, to show our appreciation to our guest speakers, we are asking if you can pay-what-you-can to help us support the Latin American Sea Turtle (LAST) Association, (formerly WIDECAST-Costa Rica), a group that works to change sea turtle conservation and avoid the extinction of the species. This is 100% optional; it’s up to you: you can choose ‘$0” or you can consider paying what you can to help us cover some of the costs associated with speaker time, planning, facilitation, content production + Zoom. The session will be recorded for those who cannot attend live.
Help us plant a tree for Earth Day! When you recommend JourneyWoman to another woman who joins our mailing list we plant a tree with Tree Sisters, an organization that reforests the Earth. Trees are the lungs of our Earth. Our goal is to plant a JourneyWoman forest of 100,000 trees by 2025.
REGISTRATION: For security reasons, we pay for a Zoom account. Pre-registration is required for security reasons and to hold space for each other. Please check our Events Calendar for updated registration information.
TICKET: Please check your email for a receipt, and a ticket with a link to join the event. A calendar invitation is also provided in the ticket email. (Click 'add to calendar' if you want to use this option). Please check your junk mail if you do not receive these items and test the link prior to the call so that you can join on time.
RECORDING: This meeting will be recorded and shared on our website and on YouTube for those who can't join and want to watch later. Please take care sharing confidential information on these calls, including your address and specific details. Thank you!
We welcome your feedback on this process at any time!
We always strive to use real photos from our own adventures, provided by the guest writer or from our personal travels. However, in some cases, due to photo quality, we must use stock photography. If you have any questions about the photography please let us know.
