Solo Travel Safety: Self-Defense for Women (Session #2)

Thursday, April 15, 8 pm ET

Due to popular demand, we are opening up a second session on Women’s Self-Defense Safety. Bring the women in your life: your daughters, sisters, friends — this session is for all women of all ages, to provide advice and tips whether you are at home or abroad.

Join JW Publisher Carolyn Ray and women’s self-defense expert Lorna Selig for an interactive session on solo travel safety, including physical techniques, tips on what to wear and pack, and more. Lorna has been teaching self-defense for nearly 17 years.  Her passion for emotional safety and wellness in children and teens is realized in her Self Defense and Personal Safety Training Company, Safe4Life. Her focus is on those who may find themselves inadvertently at risk and are the most vulnerable – women and children –  with personal safety to reduce the incidence and statistics of assault and victimization.

ALL OF OUR EVENTS ARE FREE. We use a Pay-What-You-Can model for all of our events. iI’s up to you: you can choose ‘0” or you can consider paying what you can to help us cover the costs associated with speaker time, planning, facilitation, content production + Zoom. Our speaker, Lorna, is also donating her time to us, but she has asked that we donate proceeds to Gems for Gems, an organization that offers support and scholarships to women leaving abusive relationships.

Suggested price: $5.00

Minimum price: $0.00
