How to design a custom trip to Ireland and Scotland
Brimming with magic, folklore, rolling green hills and lilting musical voices, Ireland and Scotland call to travelers the world over, no matter what percentage of Irish their heritage may claim. These countries are often seen among the safest for solo women travellers, and many women return over and over again.
Recently, JourneyWoman’s Carolyn Ray experienced her first trip with Brendan Vacations in July 2024. She writes: “After a particularly busy year, when I considered what to do for my birthday in July, the idea of planning a vacation felt exhausting. I didn’t want to research it. I wanted to have someone else handle the logistics. When Brendan Vacations offered to organize a 12-day custom trip for me in Ireland and Scotland, it was a welcome idea. I opted for a self-guided train trip, with the hotels, walking tours, train transportation, and local hosts organized in advance. This allowed me the flexibility to design my own experience, including my birthday celebration, around a strong foundation, knowing that everything else was looked after.” (Read more about her experience here.)
