A new year is just around the corner!

By Carolyn Ray, Publisher

This has been a hard year for all of us – but we have many reasons to believe that next year will be better. As 2021 approaches, I’ve been thinking a lot about travel in the future.

Last week, I moved into a small apartment and downsized again, for the second time in two years. I donated clothing, shoes and many things I didn’t really need. It felt great to minimize. When travel beckons, I will grab my backpack and go! (I think Evelyn would approve, don’t you!)

What are you doing to get travel ready? What will your first step be?

I believe in setting intentions, that whatever you manifest can become real – so let’s do that together. Join me at our first-ever JourneyWoman virtual holiday social on December 17 at 6 pm ET. We have a full agenda planned: our Women’s Advisory Council will share their expert predictions on the future of travel, and we’ll talk about how we can be more intentional in the way we travel. Please sign up here.  (Note: in the spirit of the holidays, we’re asking for donations to Feeding America and Food Banks Canada.

What’s Next?

In January, we’re launching a series of events and articles to help you get “Travel Ready.” It’s important not to overlook the basics, so we’re starting off with a webinar on an important topic: “Travel Essentials: Legal, Insurance and Financial Planning’ on January 7.

Context Travel: Another way to get Travel Ready is through Context Travel’s expert-led seminars and courses. Have you tried any out yet using your special JourneyWoman discount?  Read more here.

JourneyWoman Book Club: Our book club is also reading some incredible novels. We’ve chosen the first six books for 2021, starting with “Tales of a Female Nomad: Living at Large in the World,” recommended by Kathy. As you can imagine, this book immediately resonated with me – Rita Golden Gelman sells all of her possessions (as I did!) and travels the world to follow her dream. To see the first six books chosen and all the books we’ve reviewed so far, visit our new Book Club hub page at https://journeywoman.com/book-club/
