Career opportunities at JourneyWoman

Established in 1994, JourneyWoman ranks in the top 15 travel websites in the world. Together with our readers, partners and community, we are building the largest and most influential women’s travel business in the world, focused on the often undervalued women over 50 market. We publish several newsletters a month, host the world’s only Women’s Travel Directory, and create marketing programs to promote solo travel, women-friendly tours, retreats, small ships, trains and safe places to stay.

Behind the scenes, our small team of professionals puts our passion for travel into everything we do. We all work remotely and travel frequently, but find time to come together several times a year to brainstorm, share ideas and personal goals, and plan ahead. We work lean and quickly, and are always ready to innovate. There is also the opportunity to travel, or help us test out new affiliate partners.

Our CEO and Editor, Carolyn Ray, was named one of the most influential women in travel in 2023 by TravelPulse.  Prior to this, Carolyn was the CEO of Interbrand Canada, where she led a team of 30 professionals and built a fun, highly engaged culture. Our professional travel writers are members of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW), The Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC) and the Transformational Travel Council.  In July 2024, we received the TBEX Travel Blog of the Year Award.

To apply for roles, please email Carolyn Ray at [email protected]. Please include a cover note highlighting which role you are interested in, your relevant work experience, aspirations, why you’d like to be a part of our team, and fee expectations. Please sign up for our newsletters, look at our website and come prepared with your own ideas. Please do not email multiple times as we are busy and get hundreds of emails a day. We do not want proposals from agencies, thank you for respecting that.

Once we have shortlisted candidates, we will contact you, arrange a 15-minute zoom interview and discuss the opportunity. Depending on the role, we may invite you to meet other team members, as we believe cultural fit is very important.
