RFID travel bags help keep you safe and secure during travel

Our partners at Sherpani, a U.S.-based sustainable brand, offer functional designs and bags made from recycled plastic. Additionally, with safety in mind, Sherpani offers many styles with RFID technology. RFID is Radio-Frequency Identification that automatically identifies and tracks tags attached to your bags using electromagnetic fields. This technology is helpful in keeping your credit cards and passports safe from unauthorized usage. (Find a wallet or passport guard here.)
However, it’s not enough to have RFID technology. What makes Sherpani unique is its RFID Blocking technology. This is achieved by including a thin metallic sheet of material that blocks radio waves. In Sherpani bags, the RFID blocking runs along the front panel of each design. Blocking these radio waves is the key to stopping cyber theft. All you have to do is make sure there’s an appropriate barrier between your RFID tags (credit cards and passport) and the potential RFID reader in the jacket pocket of the hacker standing close by.
When you’re wearing a backpack or a crossbody, the back side of your bag sits against your body, so there’s no reason to add RFID blocking to that side. The exception is one of our favourite styles, the Vale, which features a reversible design and is built with RFID blocking on both sides. Each Anti-Theft bag comes with a ReturnMe Tag that connects your bag to a globally recognized lost-and-found service.

I LOVE Sherpani!!! I’ve been using their bags for decades – my first was the Hula Girl pack. I have an embarrassing plethora of their bags now. They are fantastic for traveling, but I use my bags for everyday use. I just bought a new Tempest yesterday for my Winter everyday bag. You won’t go wrong with any of their bags. No, I don’t work for them 🙂
