New partnership with TourRadar helps women find and book multi-day tours and cruises easily
by JourneyWoman staff
As interest in women’s travel grows, many companies are vying for the women over 50 traveller’s attention and travel dollars. They are investing in google ads, advertising and social media marketing to stand out. In a sea of Google searches, how do you know where to go? As the world’s first solo travel website and a trusted resource for women’s travel for more than 30 years, JourneyWoman is making it easier and for you to find and book travel with companies you can trust.
To help women find and BOOK trips directly with vetted companies, JourneyWoman has partnered with TourRadar, a trusted multi-day adventure technology platform, to create the JourneyWoman Travel Directory, powered by TourRadar. This Directory the world’s first and largest resource for women to find and BOOK travel, providing women with more than 8,000 trips to choose from.
“Finding and booking a small group tour shouldn’t be so time-consuming, especially for solo travellers,” says Carolyn Ray, CEO, JourneyWoman. “Thanks to our groundbreaking partnership with technology provider TourRadar, women can now find and book the travel experiences of their dreams through our Directory, without having to rely on Google searches and endless hours of searching multiple tour operator or cruise sites for dates and discounts. Our Directory has the best deals with companies women can trust at the best possible prices. Why would you go anywhere else to find a multi-day land tour, river cruise or expedition cruise?”
This Travel Directory is a world first — and is the only resource designed exclusively for women. There is no cost to use this Directory – JourneyWoman and TourRadar have developed this together, as a free service for women. In addition, JourneyWoman will curate the best solo, no or low single supplement and exclusive deals in a free newsletter. Make sure you are on the list here.

How our Women’s Travel Directory works
The JourneyWoman Women’s Travel Directory is similar to Booking.com, Expedia or Get Your Guide. In addition to search criteria such as destination, type of travel, budget and date, women can search for trips run by women-owned small businesses, women-only groups, find companies that offer no or low single supplement, last-minute deals, small group tours and more. This allows women to save time, compare trips and pricing side by side, and book directly with travel companies, in a safe, reliable travel platform.
Our Directory includes well-known brands like G Adventures, Intrepid, Globus, Trafalgar, Explore! and Collette, as well as women-owned businesses like Rebecca Adventure Travel, Adventures in Good Company, Just You, A Solo Travel Collection, Walking Women, Sacred Earth Journeys, Mary’s Meanders, Travels with Talek and Wanderlust Women. Women can also search river cruise companies including Ama Waterways, Avalon, Uniworld, CroisiEurope and expedition cruises from companies like Hurtigruten, National Geographic/ G Adventures.
We are adding new companies all the time so there will be even more choice as this resource grows.
How this makes finding and booking travel easier, faster and more affordable
1. More choice from operators vetted by TourRadar and JourneyWoman
Women can search by date, destination, price, no single supplement and see side by side comparisons with the most updated pricing. Since TourRadar’s platform connects directly to many tour operator’s websites, you get the same price or in some cases, a discount on the TourRadar platform. There are also candid reviews from thousands of other customers, giving women confidence that this is the right trip.
2. Flexibility to shop around
For those women interested in a trip, but not 100 per cent ready to book, there is an option to place a trip on hold without any payment. This is particularly helpful with last-minute deals and sales. This lets you ‘hold’ a trip for 24 hours and then return once you’ve made up your mind.
3. Search and find for solo trips with no or low single supplement quickly
Instead of navigating multiple tour company websites looking for the best deals for solo travellers, women can easily search for trips with no single supplement with just a few clicks. We highlight companies that cater to solo travellers, and in some cases have negotiated exclusive discounts, which are also available in our HOT FLASH mailings.

4. Find women-only trips easily
We know that some women prefer women-only tours and retreats, so we’ve curated a selection of trips to help women find and book travel faster. Women-only travel tends to feature small group sizes, in some cases no larger than 6 to 10 women, a focus on culturally immersive activities and experiences, and a connection with local women in the destinations being visited.

4. Support small and women-owned businesses
Just like Booking.com or GetYour Guide, this technology platform levels the playing field for smaller businesses, providing a place where women-owned businesses and travel experiences can be easily found and selected. From safaris to walking trips, you can see the complete list of our partners on the TourRadar platform here.
5. TourRadar offers 24-hour customer service, and protection and peace of mind on all purchases
All payments happen through TourRadar, ensuring that any purchase you make is protected. You can use a credit card, versus cash, wire or money transfers as happens now with some companies. Should any issues arise with the tour operator, TourRadar will provide assistance. There is also an option to ask the tour operator questions before a trip is booked.
In addition, TourRadar has customer service experts available 24-7 who can answer questions. Each operator has their own payment schedule. Terms and conditions, including the cancellation policy, are on the operator’s profile page.
