Meet explorer and conservationist Carla Geyser, Founder, Blue Sky Society Trust
Explorer and conservationist Carla Geyser is deeply passionate about showing people both the magnificent beauty and the often harsh reality of Africa. Through her non-profit Blue Sky Society Trust, Carla takes like-minded travellers on expeditions, or ‘Journeys With Purpose’, to raise funds for critical conservation projects, allowing them to see and do more and changing them forever.
Carla started Blue Sky Society Trust (BSST) more than a decade ago with a dream of opening up the beauty of Africa to those who might otherwise never have the chance to explore it. At the same time, these expeditions have allowed her to answer an innate desire to make a difference and bring about positive change in the world.
Join us on this special webinar with JourneyWoman’s Carolyn Ray and Carla Geyser to learn about the beauty and harsh realities of Africa, and the audacious treks she designs for courageous women to raise funds for wildlife and humanitarian projects.
As always, participants are welcome to share their experiences and ask questions.

“For some, the awakening is instant, and Africa ignites something inside their soul straight away. For others, it only hits a few weeks, or even months after they have returned home. You can be staring out the window, watching the sunset and all of a sudden, the reality of what you did really sinks in.” — Carla Geyser
Are your eyes wide open?
Over the years, Carla has led groups made up of individuals from all over the world, including the Netherlands, Canada, Malaysia, Germany, USA, UK and South Africa.
Blue Sky Expeditions started in 2019 as a follow-on of the conservation, environmental and humanitarian work that Blue Sky Society Trust has done since 2012. This non-profit began raising funds and awareness for conservation groups by linking ethical adventure travel with giving back. Carla Geyser started Blue Sky Society Trust in 2012 due to believing that unless we uplift humans from poverty, we will not be able to save our planet from a slow death. So many animal species are becoming extinct, and we are not doing enough to stop this. Conservation, humanity, and the environment are all intertwined. Humans who have access to education and develop compassion will naturally want to save the animals that share our world.
“These journeys weren’t about traversing great distances; they are a reminder of our interconnectedness with nature and the urgent need to protect it. Each crew is made up of people from around the globe, with varying ages, culture and backgrounds, all connected through a shared passion for conservation and desire to make a difference.”— Carla Geyser, Blue Sky Society Trust.
