Let’s Get Social on April 22!

“Nothing ever seems impossible in spring, you know.” – L.M. Montgomery

The signs of spring are showing in the Western Hemisphere and JourneyWomen around the world are planning for the future.

On April 22, we’re hosting a JourneyWoman Spring /Earth Day Social – this is a moment for us to reflect on the year that was, talk about what’s coming up, and share our dreams for the future.  And of course, we’ll celebrate the new “JourneyWoman Award”, which is being given out on April 23 and honours the legacy of Evelyn Hannon, the original JourneyWoman!

This is also a time to welcome the JourneyWomen who have joined our community – as subscribers on our mailing list and our JourneyWoman Facebook Group, which is now over 2,400 members! Thank you!

Even though we haven’t travelled far from home, we’ve connected in many new ways over the past year – through our editorial, community calls, book clubs, socials and wonderful conversations. It has been wonderful seeing new friendships develop on our calls

We hope you can make it!

Wear your favourite spring attire!

Check your local time here.  This will be recorded and shared.

April 22 is also Earth Day:  Focus on Conservation

In addition to some other surprise guests, we want to talk about wildlife conservation. We’ll follow up with a more in-depth session on Ethical Animal Tourism on May 13.  Stay tuned for details!

Each year, EARTHDAY.ORG designates one artist to create the official Earth Day poster to inspire the Earth Day movement.  This year, the official Earth Day 2021 poster has been created by Speto, acclaimed Brazilian street artist from São Paulo.  His piece features young people, symbolizing the hope they represent for our future, working together in harmony while cradled in the benevolent antlers of a strong stag. Speto sees the deer as a symbol of peace, serenity, and kindness; gentle, but not completely defenseless as it can be very strong and brave when the need arises. The sun represents prosperity through its life-giving energy. (Source: https://www.earthday.org/earth-day-2021-official-poster/
