An expedition cruise may change the way you see the world

Join us on a special webinar on Thursday, November 21 at 7 pm ET with our Women’s Travel Directory partner Swan Hellenic to learn more expedition cruising around the world, including Swan Hellenic’s special itineraries for 2025, including its Deepak Chopra Restore & Explore cruises, Maris Gourmet Cruises, SETI Institute space exploration cruises, and Grand Voyages of more than 20 days. We’ll also preview some of the new trips coming up in 2025.

Swan Hellenic is an established, well-respected owner-operated heritage brand with more than 7 decades of expertise in undiscovered destinations. Swan Hellenic created cultural expedition cruising in 1954, when we took members of London University’s Hellenic Society around the famous sites of ancient Greece in the company of eminent classics professors.

Swan Hellenic was relaunched in July 2020 to proudly continue the spirit of cultural expedition cruising the company pioneered in the 1950s. Building on its British roots, the new company has a global cultural cruising outlook dedicated to providing guests with the opportunity to ‘see what others don’t’. With exclusive expeditions ranging from 8-day explorations to epic 21-night semi-circumnavigation voyages, Swan Hellenic’s three  purpose-built ships feature elegant Scandi-design interiors, extensive outdoor spaces and dedicated expedition facilities and hold under 200 guests and technologically advanced, with minimal impact on the environment.

Carolyn, who is not a ‘cruiser’, spent 21 days on a Swan Hellenic expedition cruise from Cyprus to the Seychelle Islands. Her journey began in October 2023 in the Mediterranean Sea through the 193-km Suez Canal, into the Red Sea and through Bab-el-Mandeb, otherwise known as the Gate of Grief, into the Indian Ocean.  Along the way, she stopped at ports in Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Djibouti, and the remote island of Socotra, ending in Maje, Seychelles on October 24.

Predmesky notes that Swan Hellenic also offers many amenities that women will appreciate, including ongoing lectures, a library, an onboard spa, in room dining, and a fitness area.  It’s worth noting that everything is included, from food to excurions to tipping.
