Two of 2023’s Most Influential Women Partner on Travel Podcast
The award-winning Soul of Travel podcast, hosted by Christine Winebrenner Irick, has joined the JourneyWoman family, creating a powerful forum for women to share their wisdom and inspire meaningful change in travel. Both JourneyWoman CEO Carolyn Ray and Winebrenner Irick were named to “2023’s Most Influential Women in Travel” list, published by TravelPulse in March 2023, which recognizes female leaders, change makers, and visionaries in travel.
This announcement builds on JourneyWoman’s 30-year commitment to advocate for women in travel as the original women’s solo travel publication and highlight the increasing influence of women in travel. Created in 2020, Soul of Travel podcast honours the passion and dedication of people making a positive impact in the tourism industry. Each episode features the stories of women who are industry professionals, seasoned travellers, entrepreneurs and community leaders. Now in its fourth season, the Soul of Travel podcast has over 120 episodes with guests such as Celine Cousteau, Norie Quintos, Nikki Vargas and Lola Åkerström and Sara Mansouri.
“For many of us, travel is more about the journey than the destination — it shapes the women we become and is fundamental to achieving our dreams,” says Carolyn Ray, CEO, JourneyWoman. “Over the past three years, Christine has channeled her passion for women’s empowerment and sustainable travel into Soul of Travel, creating a safe, welcoming place for women to share their deepest wisdom and inspire others with their personal journeys. Together, we seek to empower women on their journey of self-discovery, support women entrepreneurs and advocate for more intentional travel through powerful storytelling.”
“I created Soul of Travel during the pandemic to highlight the positive impact of travel on travellers and destinations, and over time, it evolved to tell the story of women making a positive impact in tourism,” says Winebrenner Irick. “With JourneyWoman’s highly engaged readers, and three decades of credibility in women’s travel, we can further amplify the voices of these changemakers, bring more travellers and professionals into these conversations, and support women-led, women-owned businesses. We also see this as a place where we can focus on on topics unique to women and support gender equity.”
